Have a kxtd 816 w/ tvs 125.2 port. Was working for yrs. Now won't answer
When I dial 165, says not valid. Can't get into any part of VM. Powered down and up. There is a red power light on. What do you think next step is?

Try connecting to it with Hyper Terminal, get physically connected and reboot the TVS and see if it reads any data. A solid red light usually means the unit is working and connection to the TD system is established. Is the TD816 programming still intact? There are initial steps to get the two units talking to eachother.

The TVS is also at least 12 years old so it might have gone to voicemail heaven.
