Several years ago my boss had a CTX28 phone system installed. We currently have the DKT3007 phones. As our company gets larger we need more options on the phones, the CTX28 is large enough capacity to handle our current needs, but we need better handsets. Has anyone attempted to use a DKT3014-SDL with this system? As a phone it has the features we need, and I can get the pretty inexpensively.

There are special compatibility considerations for the Toshiba Strata CTX28. This phone system is only compatible with the DKT3007-SD and the DKT3207-SD.

I looked at that website, but I am not sure that this line makes sense to me. When I read that line it sounds like the CTX-28 will only support the DKT3007-SD phones, but this is not true.

You can install a DKT 3010-SD, 3020-SD or 3014-SD phones on the CTX-28 system. The DKT3007-SD will only work on the CTX-28, but all the other DKT200, DKT3000 and DKT3200 series phone will work on a CTX-28.

Directly copied from the CTX-28 General Description:
"The Strata CTX28 supports all current Toshiba 2000-series and 3000-series digital telephones, Add-on Module, DSS Console, CTX Attendant Console, and generic single-line telephones (2500-sets)"

This is why I was asking, I am seeing conflicting things as well. Some telecom websites claim only the XXX7 (7 button) phones are compatible, where a lot of the Toshiba literature states otherwise.

Of all the CTX-28 systems I installed I don't think I have ever used DKT3007-SD phones. Most phones were DKT-3010-SD and DKT3020-SD.

I have not connected a DKT-3014-SD phone to a CTX-28, but I don't see any reason why this would not work.

DKT 3014 will work but I'd rather use DKT3010-SD or DKT3020-SD

The confusion you are reading is possibly because the DKT3007 phone will ONLY work on the CTX 28 which is not the same thing as the CTX only working with the DKT3007.

All 3000 and 3200 phones will work on the 28 (and so will the DKT2000 series phones but with display issues)
