I had all of my Axxess software loaded on my Windows 7 laptop as well as 5000 software loaded up to 3.2. All of a sudden the Axxess Session Manager will not open up no matter what I do. I've uninstalled all versions and re-installed a couple of them in different locations and nothing seems to work. The 5000 software runs just fine. I'm stumped!?!?

Any suggestions or ideas?

I do not use compatibility mode. All of my Axxess session managers work up to the latest release. Well to be honest from Version 5.1 and up.This is a shot. Try this:

1. Delete the file crpe32.dll from the C:\windows\system32 folder.

NOTE: If using terminal services, Make sure the crpe32.dll exists in the C:\windows\system32 folder - If it does not, then?perform a?search for it and copy it in to the C:\windows\system32 folder.

2. Reinstall the database programming software.

Additional issues have been reported in relation to this after performing the above listed?steps:

•Even if you have an earlier version of session manager loaded, (5.x,6.x,7.x) 8.002 will give you a "Can't create name space error." You must load 8.0 and then 8.002 as a workaround.
•The problem may be that you are using a shortcut on your desktop. You may have to go to Start Programs - Inter-Tel DB to?get this to work. The reason for this has to do with the working directory in the shortcuts' properties. On the old shortcut it was set to something like c:\inter-tel\5102 instead of c:\inter-tel. If you create a new shortcut after manually navigating to the program it should correct the problem.
•Disable virus protection while loading. ?I have tried disabling Virus Protection, in fact I uninstalled the DB programming version, then I found and removed crpe32.dll and restarted. I also used task manager to stop all other running programs and reinstalled DB programming.
•Also remember that you should load this software as (local) administrator to make sure you have the proper rights to install all the components.

This may not be the fix for your problem but I hjave seen when an older version is installed the crpe32 file gets corrupt. Delete it and load the latest version last. Good luck.

Hi guys. Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, nothing seems to work.

I've tried running the program in XP compatibility mode. I've uninstalled every Axxess version I have and tried loading different versions 1 at a time. I've tried running the program directly from the Program menu. I've renamed the Crpe32.dll file to Crpe32_old.dll and tried reloading. I've deleted it and tried reloading. I've tried restarting my computer after uninstalling the software and disabling virus protection when loading session manager. I've tried running the program as administrator. Nothing seems to work. The funny thing is that everything was working perfectly find until about 2 weeks ago and then it just stopped out of the blue.

If I click on it once, I'll get the hour glass which will eventually go away and nothing will happen. If I click on it once and then again before the hour glass goes away, I get this message.

One thing of note is that the Crpe32.dll file is created in my C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder. I've tried copying and pasting it over to my System32 folder and I still can't get it to work.

Are you running 64 bit?

OK. Have you resolved this yet? I am running 32 bit and mine is in C:\Windows\System32.

I did find this also:
When opening session manager for database programming you get an msjet35.dll error and session manager will not run.You will need the latest version of Microsoft Jet 3.5. It can be downloaded here: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/172733. This is from an old KB 2003.

I found this one too:
I am getting a "Namespace" error when clicking the start button in session manager...

This has been reported on Both the AXXESS and Inter-Tel 5000 Session Managers - this answer applies to both.

•Also remember that you should load this software as (local) administrator to make sure you have the proper rights to install all the components.

And just to give you too much information there is this one:

Why when launching Session Manager for DB programming, do you see an 'Inter-Tel Session Manager' message (with a red circle and a white X in the middle) with the following text?

'Unable to save all session information to registry.'

or

'Unable to find any installed versions of database programming.'
While running under and administrative account, the program works correctly.

NOTE: For future references Filemon and Regmon, both free utlilities, amongst others available, from Microsoft can be used to determine access denied errors to the filesystem and registry respectively.

https://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx

Since running with an administrative account works, this essentially points to a matter of security (user rights) to be able to use DB programming, or any program for that matter.

The easiest way to get this running is to:

•Grant write permissions to the base directory that you installed DB programming. E.g. C:\InterTel.
•Within the registry, you'll need to set advanced permissions for the %DB% key and you'll need to EXCLUDE only the following rights and apply onto 'this key and subkeys': "Full Control" "Create Link" "Write DAC" "Write Owner". The %DB% key varies by product:
â—¦Axxess: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Inter-Tel\Database Programming
â—¦5000: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Inter-Tel\CS5000
NOTE: For Windows XP and above, you can right click this key in regedit and select permissions; for Windows NT/2000, you'll need to use regedt32, highlight the key, select the 'Security' menu and permissions from there.

All of these are old. Let me know what you find. If you really, really need help let me knoe and I may be able to get professional help. I always need professional help :bang:
