I am looking at a new laptop. As with alot of new laptops, it does not have a serial port. Has anyone tried using a USB to serial adapter to program a Legend or Magix? That is my only real concern. I have seen guys use them on routers, and those are the only things I can think of when it comes to using the serial port.

Z it's always a concern when merging 2 different technologies. Many of the manufacturers have tested usb-to-serial for compatability with their equip. All seem to work. The only issue is over com1 com2 only programs and you should be able to reassign these resources.
