I'm not really a phone guy, but it does fall under my responsibility (see my sig). I've got an Avaya/Partner phone system and I'm trying to figure out how to program the name that displays with each extension. I've found the steps on the Avaya website (and in the manual), but it doesn't seem to work. When I hit Feature 00, the phone rings and the extension number displays. When I hit Left Intercom (or System Program, if you prefer), rather than saying "Enter Name" as the instructions say it should, it says "Sys Acc Ring-I" and basically I'm stuck there.
Any help would be FANSTASTICALLY appreciated! Thanks!

From either ext. #10 or #11:
Feature 00 Left intercom twice Right intercom once Enter ext # to program Left intercom Enter name as you want displayed
From extension that you want to name: -Must be a display phone Feature 00 Left intercom Enter name as you want displayed
I thought you said that your system was down...

Could it be that someone already named that extension "Sys Acc Ring-I"?
Try pressing the Mic/HFAI button to delete it and see if it doesn't then say "Enter Extension Name".

Um, when pressing the Intercom button, and it said "Sys Acc Ring-I", tells me you're actually using a Magix or Legend, NOT a Partner.
It's going to be a bit more complicated. Go back to the Avaya support site, look under Merlin Legend, and search the FAQ's.
You are going to need to program from a console phone, or a PC running WinSPM software.

Thanks for your suggestions! I'm going to take another stab at it when I get in to work tomorrow.
Much appreciated.

You may want to post a detailed description of the actual phone system i.e. types and numbers of cards... For example, if you have cards that say "408" then you're probably on a Legend or Magix, if they say "308" or "206" then it could be a Partner, etc.
Just a thought...
