I put in a little DSX system for a small business. Set up toll restriction for a few phones in a common area so they can call only local or toll free numbers. No problem.

They would like to have one phone that can access toll service, but only after entering an account code. I see the stuff in the system docs, but I can't figure out exactly what to do.

Can anyone point me to the program numbers that I need to change to do this?

thanks!!!

In 2102 assign the station to a separate class of service.
In 1412 assign Forced Account Code and Verify Account Code to the COS you assigned to the station in 2102.
In 3601 add an account code.

That makes sense! I just looked at those settings on my file backup for the system.

I will be at the site later today or Monday - so I will implement the solution.

Thanks very much!

That worked, but it makes me enter an account code for all outside calls. I tried selecting the "Froced Account Code Toll Only" in the COS options, but then it doesn't restrict anything.

I suppose I am still missing something. I just want the users of that extension to have to enter an account code on toll calls, not for local or toll free.

Thanks!

Sorry, I misread the part about forcing account number on toll only. I have never done that but I glean from the docs that "Forced Account Code" would not be checked for the COS, but "Force (Toll Only) Account Code" would be checked as well as "Verify Account Code".

See Walking Class Of Service in the user guide. Allows you to pickup any Restricted phone and make any call allowed by YOUR class of service.
INTERCOM ##0 DIAL YOUR EXT PRESS HOLD, DIAL YOUR PIN number AND PRESS HOLD.
Make any call you want, when you hang up Restriction is enabled again. To the user of the restricted phone, calls are made normally, no codes needed.
Roaming users without a phone can be given an unused ext as long as it has a pin.
Note that the user who wishes to override Restriction musthave Walking COS DAy/Nite
assigned to their ext and must have input a PIN Number.
