A tremendous and irreplaceable collection of all things telephonic has been totally destroyed by a fire in California. The museum was the home to a collection of phones, phone-related items and key and switching equipment dating from the dawn of telephony to the present, numbering in the tens of thousands, including tons of rare paperwork, and several one-of-a-kind Bell Labs prototypes for subscriber equipment.

I don't own any museum quality items, but, I could donate my two Western Electric protectors (one is the two-piece porcelain with tubular fuses).
Huge loss. Things like this can never be replaced.
Sad news, Arthur.

Wow! What a terrible loss. I would be devastated losing a collection like that.
Oh, that makes me so sad.

The museum that I am a member of is investigating donating duplicate items to JKL to help them get back on their feet.
