Toshiba IP Telephone Problems:
#1 PROBLEM: IPT shows: "xIPU not found"
ACTIONS TO TAKE:
Verify the following:
1. xIPU is running (heartbeat LED is blinking).
2. Ping to xIPU is successful.
3. xIPU discovery mode in terminal setting mode. If “2:Broadcast” is selected, xIPUs have to locate same network segment as IPT.”
CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM:
1. xIPU was down.
2. xIPU was network unreachable.
3. xIPU was located beyond the router but IPT
tried to discover xIPU by broadcasting.”
SOLUTION:
Change xIPU discovery mode to ““1:Manual”” and
configure xIPU IP address in IPT terminal
setting mode.”
#2 PROBLEM: IPT shows “Can’t get StationID”
ACTION TO TAKE:
Check there are available Station IDs.
CAUSE:
All Station IDs are already
used by other IPTs.
SOLUTION:
New IPT assigns by Prog 200 and permits
Automatic Station ID Assignment by Prog 150
or Prog 250.

#3 PROBLEM: IPT shows “StationID unmatch”
ACTION TO TAKE: Step 1: Enter terminal setting
mode, and then press dial “2” to enter network
configurations, and then press FK5 to display the
StationID.
Step 2: Enter CIX programming mode, and
then enter prime DN same as Station ID in Prog 250.
CAUSE: Station ID is out of prime DN list which are assigned to IPT.
SOLUTION: Set Station ID from within
prime DN list which are assigned to IPT.

#4 PROBLEM: IPT shows “Not exist Multicast addr”
ACTION: Enter the terminal configuration mode, and then press “2” to enter the network configuration.
Verify the following:
(1) FK11
(2) FK13”
CAUSE: In FK11, “3:Multicast” was selected, but no multicast address was assigned in FK13.”
SOLUTION: Change xIPU discovery mode (FK11), or enter the multicast address for discovery.
Note: CIX does not support the procedure of
discovery using multicast. This will be supported in the future.

#5 PROBLEM IPT shows “Not exist xIPU addr”
ACTION: Enter the terminal configuration mode, and then press “2” to enter the network configuration.
Verify the following:
(1) FK11
(2) FK12
CAUSE: In FK11, “1:Manual”was selected, but no xIPU address was assigned in FK12.
HOW TO RESOLVE: Change xIPU discovery mode, or enter the xIPU address for discovery.

#6 PROBLEM: IPT shows “Can’t register IPT:E0”
ACTION: 1. Enter terminal configuration mode, then press “2” to enter the network configuration. Verify StationID in FK5.
2. In Prog 250, enter prime DN same as the StationID verified step1.
3. If no error, move step4.
CAUSE: Station ID assigned in terminal configuration mode was out of IPT’s prime DN list. Maybe this station was deleted or
prime DN was changed.
SOLUTION: Change Station ID.
<OR>
ACTION: 4. Try the following: Enter Prog 250 with Prime DN same as the Station ID
verified Step 1. Select FK8 and change voice CODEC.
CAUSE: Terminal data regarding that StationID was not synchronized between CIX and xIPU. Maybe
xIPU failed to receive the data.
SOLUTION: This is a known problem.

#7 PROBLEM: IPT shows “Can’t register IPT:E4”
ACTION: Find the IPT which has same
Station ID.
CAUSE: Station ID duplicated.
SOLUTION: Set unique Station ID.

#8 PROBLEM: IPT shows “Can’t register IPT:E11”
CAUSE: No resources are available.
SOLUTION: Create a new IPT terminal in Prog 200. Or,Change destination xIPU having some idle resources.

#9 PROBLEM: IPT shows “Can’t register IPT:E13”
ACTION: Check CIX applies Terminal Authentication feature, or, IP address filtering. Verify Prog 150 FK2 and Prog 250 FK5,
FK6 for Terminal Authentication. Verify Prog
250 FK2, FK3 for IP address filtering.
CAUSE: 1. Terminal Authentication
feature was applied but Station MAC address was
different from that programmed in CIX.
2. IP address filtering was applied but Station IP address was different from that programmed in
CIX.
SOLUTION: See Spec.1203 for Terminal Authentication. AND See Spec.1200 for IP
address filtering.

#10 PROBLEM: IPT shows “xIPU TCP CONNECT ERROR”
CAUSE: Fail to establish TCP connection to xIPU.
#11 PROBLEM: IPT shows “xIPU TCP PORT IS CLOSED””
CAUSE: TCP connection was disconnected by xIPU.
#12 IPT shows "xIPU ALIVE PACKET STOP”
CAUSE: Keep-Alive was failing.

Dwight,
I can appreciate you taking time to type that all in, but the open forum is for end-user type questions. That is why I gave him the exact same info via PM. This information is installer level stuff.
