I am ne to the Vodavi Products and have a couple of questions. 1) What is the difference between the P/N 303-04 and the 304-04 Voice mail units? They both look like, act like, smell like, and taste like a Talkpath Digital Voice mail.

2)On the In Skin Flash Voice mail Cards, I have done the default through the RS232 port on the card. However, I found that it does not default the System Prompts. Is there another way to default these cards to get back the original system prompts? Will reflashing the software also load the original prompts?

1. The 303 series (Talkpath or Dispatch) has a 386 processor; the 304 has a 486.

2. When you did the default, did you use the initize option from the main menu? That's the only way that I know of to do it. If system prompts have been erased, they cannot be replaced. I believe that the card can be sent in for repair to be reflashed though.

Thanks Ed. Yes, I did do the initialization from the main menu. What happened was "someone" recorded over System Prompt 1 when they meant to record Greeting 1 and I wanted to get it back to Factory default. OOPS.

Yeah, I have been told by Vodavi's technical support that once a system prompt is deleted, it cannot be recovered. It will need to be sent in for repair and reflashed. The only thing that I can think to do other than that is to record the verbage for system prompt 1 in your own voice (or theirs).
