Hi

We just went through IP changes on computers in our network and since then I get error "the extension number you specified is no programmed in the system"
From what I can see looking in WebPro under me IP phone extension the computer IP assigned to this extension is different then the one I have. I tried under maintenance command "90-23" to "delete registered IP phone" to reconfigure the softphone so gets a new IP however I get "there were errors when trying to apply the changes"

IF anyone has any idea how I can fix this so it'll work with the new IP addresses please let me know frown

thanks

I suppose the first question is what have you done so far? Be specific.

I haven't really done anything as I'm not sure what to do. I was going to "Delete Registered IP Phone - 90-23" for my extension and reconfigure it but I get error "There were errors when trying to apply the changes"
The only thing I can identify is that my IP on my computer used to be 192.168.2.177 and because we had to change WEP key on our wireless network all the IP addresses have changed for everyone on the network from what I can see.
our NEC rep is also lost with this...
Actually we had an issue with our phone system beginning of week, it kept looping. Eventually after troubleshooting it looked like the ram stick on the main board was the problem.. so for now until its replaced the stick of ram is missing. I really doubt this would be the problem?

thank you for any help - please let me know if I can elaborate in any other way..

How big is your system? You cannot go over 64 ports without it. In fact you really need to re-flash the system software when you either ADD or take it out. Bet you anything that is your problem, well I am ASSUMING you have all the new IP's set in the cabinet.

ok
I was scared of this because we haven't done a backup lately so I'm afraid all the programming I've done would be lost. My NEC rep is going to show me how to backup with a USB stick using a code. I'm hoping we can back it up then flash the system and reload what is saved. Hopefully what is saved isn't corrupted and we can reload.

Our system isn't big no, as for IP phones or softphones we only have 4 of them...
I'm at home right now and the ip phone I have @ home is saying not found extension No.

thanks for sharing.
I will post any resolution for everyone.

also
when you mean you're assuming I have the new IP's set in the cabinet, are you referring to the fact that the IP's have change on the computer and I should update this as settings in WebPro? IF you're talking about the IP change for the cabinet, then that's fine as the IP's for the cabinet are hardcoded so that didn't change. Like hard coding an IP on the server...

An update on this

This was because we had the IP extensions setup over port 64 as Corel Tech mentioned above. We have put in a new stick of ram and had to update the firmware 6.x to 8.x and now everything is working ok and we didn't lose any programmed data.

Corel Tech - thank you so much for your help this was a great learning experience for me.

Happy holidays!
