Has anyone had trouble with mp5 chassis not expanding ? This is the second time this has happened to us and we just ordered some other cabinets just like last time ??? Just asking !!

Never had an issue...what are you experiencing?

we have 2 cabinets that we have tried a ribbon cable and a scsi cable with and no workie !! tried 2 diff maux cards and another cabinet with the other 2 cabinets !! lol we have changed main cabinets and still no good....so just checking with others about this..

How many expansions on your license keys?

just one...we tried different cabinets just to check but to no avail....this happened to us last time we got the cabinets. as soon as we got others everything started working fine with the ribbon cable.

Are you using the buffer cards that come with the ribbon cable? Did you change the CPU to a CPU-2? Did you add FXII expansion software in place of the FX-112 bin?

EDIT...you had to have a CPU-II to show an expansion on your license.Arghhhh.

Is all of the equipment new? This is various issues with revs on aux boards etc etc.

@ Jim...The equipment was refurbished....in talking with some other techs it seems like revs with the chassis is also an issue !!! Wish they would have tested the equipment before sending it to us !! :banana: :banana:

I know what you mean. With the old fx and the newer you have so many things to watch for. Are the cabinets black or grey?

ok the newer cabinets still dont work !!! Crap !! We have the ribbon cable plugged into j7 to j9 of the second cabinet.....when we power it on the vmail keeps resetting and we cant log into the main cabinet....when we disconnect the second cabinet it works fine...any suggestions ?

Are you using the buffer cards on the ribbon cable? If yes take them off. Do you have 4 LEDs on the backplane of each cabinet?

no buffer cards and yup we have the four lights on in both cabinets...this is kinda driving us crazy !! lol !

You sure you skipped a slot in the expansion cabinet correct? J9 is not the bottom slot...

NO not yet lol We are getting another set of cabinets lol and another cpu and services board.

Al, are you using the same equipment supplier for all of these?
