Got a customer who uses gmail for their email service. Trouble setting up email notification.

In system parameters the host ID is set to:
SMTP.gmail.com

All the rest of the info is correct ( user id, password, etc. )

I'm getting the following error in the error report:

SMTP Message 00000025, Time: 0.03s, Failed
ERROR - Wed Jul 18 11:22:47 2012
SMTP Failed to resolve the address. Resource temporarily unavailable
NOTICE - Wed Jul 18 11:22:47 2012

I have not been able to get an answer from support.

Any answeres out there ??

Do you have DNS servers assigned in the system.

Does Gmail support plain smtp these days?
I thought it had to be secure smtp?

Got the gmail working.
Had to find the IP address for smtp.gmail.com
Set security to TSL

Works great.
