I replaced an option 11 with a 7200 with 50 x SMT-i5210 IP phones the have a Pri for incoming calls and sip trunks for outgoing calls have been receiving a lot of complaints about the quality of the hands free on the phones the sip trunks are using g711 but after testing I think it is poor wether you go out over the pri or the sip trunks is there any settings to try to improve it I see in 5.4.2 mic Tx but not sure what to change settings to if any
Any advice would be great
Thanks in advance
Sorry it's on the latest 4.70 software and has an OAS card installed
I have seen this as well 5210 seems to have low transmit and as far as I could find with Samsung there is no fix. 5230 has a much improved speakerphone. System wide volume controls have no effect.
The phones don't do duplex handsfree well at all. If there's any background noise, or the participants try and talk at the same time, it's horrible. You have to use it like a 2-way radio. Over.

I believe samsung released documentation stating that the SMT 3105 and 5210's "full duplex" was some type of software algorithm, whereas the 5230 and 5243 were hardware full duplex.

Then samsung released documentation stating that the document they released (see above) is wrong. So basically full duplex does not work very well at all with the 3105 and 5210.

I'd make sure the phones are also set to G711u. Sometimes if you have mismatching Codecs they can default to the lowest common denominator.
From what we have been told, the 3105's and the 5210's speakerphone's control is software based. We have found speakerphone performance has not been great because of that. We changed a customer's IP phones to 5230's which speakerphone's control is hardware based. Not sure about the new 5220's but the 5230 speakerphones are much, much better than the 3105's and 5210's.
