Hi everybody -

I'm just curious about how old of a company DSC is.

I've seen records of alarms being installed in 1989 and earlier, but I always thought it was a '90s company...

Thank you smile

Founded in 1979. We started using their equipment in the mid 80s.

DSC...now part of Alcatel/Lucent...also produced equipment for service providers. They made NAC-4 equal access dialers...ones that would inject a CLEC's 7 digit access code to direct intra-lata calls to alternate providers.

They also produced DCS's and tandem voice switches...the DEX-200,400,600 and 600E. My screen name is a tribute of sorts to the DSC DEX voice switches. grin

Dex, I think you are talking about a different DSC.

LOL...DSC (Digital Security Controls) is a Canadian company that manufactures alarm and fire panels and a host of peripheral equipment for the alarm industry. I think you may be thinking of Digital Switch Corp from Plano Texas which is now DSC Communications Corp. They started making Central Office equipment in the mid 70s.
