Help. I have a customer that is running a Call Center. Axxess 5.2f9 NT CPU Call Processing Server. They have a bunch of DNIS numbers coming in from 92 PRI Channels to an ACD Hunt Group. They have a 32 channel Axxessorytalk Voice Mail. They want all calls that go to this Hunt Group to first be answered by a Call Routing Application on the Axxessorytalk, Then circulate through the Hunt Group. Currently the Hunt Group's Announcement station is programmed to go to the Call Routing Announcement Application and the Announcement Timer is very short. This works like they want until there are more than 32 calls at a time hitting the Voice Mail. When more than 32 calls hit the voicemail, the announcement never gets played even when a voice mail port frees up. Is there a better solution to this than using the Axxessorytalk for the announcement? Or a better way to program this system?

Shorten the announcement stations greeting if you can. I thought for sure the announcement calls would camp on and wait for a port.

6.0 allows up to 40 ports but that's a small bump in capacity.

I was thinking that calls would Camp On too. But if I remember from Intertel class, a long time ago, the announcement is only hit once. Then the overflow plays every time the overflow timer expires. And when it hit s the announcement station, the call really never leaves the hunt group. So I think the call will try the announcement application once, but it is busy, so the call stays in the hunt group and never tries the announcement again. There must be other places that use an application like this where they need to play a recording first. Thanks for the reply.

You're correct about the announcement playing once and the overflow playing at the timers interval and that the call never leaves the hunt group.

If you're trying to play a recording first, what about sending the calls to a CRA first, then time that out to the HG? It won't solve your port though.
