Hardware store near me has this nice old ComKey system still chugging away!

Next time you're there, you should do them a mitzvah and put paper designation squares, with the line numbers, under the line key caps. The caps just pop off and on.

From the top, down:

SPKR
PRIV RLS (optional)
ICM 1
ICM 2
(blank)
LINE 4
LINE 3
LINE 2
LINE 1
HOLD
I still have 2 customers using them. I have 1 of each set in inventory. Both know when I use them there are no more..
"...there are no more..."

I know where some might be hidden...just sayin'...
ComKey sets and Jimmy Hoffa...wait, what?
Thanks, but no more from me. It's time for them to move on.
In 1973 I sold the second ComKey in Wichita.
Another guy on the sales team sold the first one a day or two earlier.
I had some friends in Plant and my system was the first to be operational. I sold a bunch of them. Believe it or not the big draw for the system, was the music on hold.
Turns out, that system was a tight squeeze for them. It was maxed out and they were growing. Nine months or so later, sold them a 1434 and they were happy as clams. Seems to me a year or so later the PBX guys (I was strictly key) sold them a small Dimension. Supposedly they were some sort of international oil business, but I always wondered if it was a front for something clandestine.
