Relative Newbie asking a question:

I'd like to add a new Operator extension to our System. We have a Merlin Legend phone system with one main operator (100) and 3 others (103,108,113) acting like operators. I would like to add extension 118 and remove 108 & 113. Any help or pointers? We do have the Messenging "add-on". I have tried to go to the main operator console and drill down to the "operator" list item (not the exact name) and I can see all the extensions listed. For some reason I cannot add 118. Is the correct way or I am Just way off.

Thanks!
Depending on the VERSION of LEGEND and the TYPES OF MODULES you are using, the Operator positions can only be at certain Physical Ports.

The default is the 1st & 5th port on any given MLX Card, with exceptions made for the Higher Density Modules.

Perhaps 118 is not in the right spot to allow it to be an operator position.
Well, if you want to remove 108 and 113 as Operators, and change 118 into an Operator, you could just swap the extension numbers in programming, and then physically swap the connections and telephone sets.

Now, if you are a newbie, I'd really suggest getting a tech in to do that. It involves wires and pliers in addition to programming.

Thanks for the responses. I did check and yes the 1st and 5th ports can be added to the operator list. 118 is not plugged into either port position so it can't be an operator.

If someone could explain the "swapping extensions numbers in the programming" or direct me to post. Is the programming simply from the operator main console or can it be accomplished through Winspm software? I know which ports on the system need to be switched.

Again thanks for the responses so far.

1 Renumber 118 to 7100
2 Renumber 108 to 118
3 Renumber 7100 to 108
4 Frog the 2 cords for ports 108 and 118
5 Delete Operator 113
