Setting up connectivity between two PBXs in different cities. I have two extension ports connecting to an fxo/fxs device working fine, dialing FROM the distant end. I have two loop start CO ports, set up in a seperate trunk group, connecting to the fxo/fxs device. I can pull dial tone, with a butt set, at the point of connection to the CO ports of the PBX and dial TO the distant end. What I can't figure out is why I can't dial my trunk access code to pull dial tone via the Definity, then dial the distant end. I get a regular busy signal when dialing the access code; not reorder tone. Any insight would be appreciated.
Sounds like you have a pretty basic setup going there...You do have the trunk group set for "dial access=y ?
The station you are trying to use for your test..does it have a COR with access to this trunk group...
Forgot to ask....What do you get when you "status" your trunk group? What does it show.....in service idle?
Dial access is set to Yes. Nobody is restricted from accessing the trunk group. Status shows both trunks "disconnected".
Hmmm...If it'showing "disconnected" then your switch is not seeing the dialtone that you were seeing with your butt set...You might want to double check your connections..and programming for the trunk group, you said you had it set for loop start right? What trunk card are you using..TN???...G3 what? software and version?
This should be pretty basic what your trying to do...
...bob...
I will double check my cross connect. There is already one other line, connected to port 1 for other purposes, that is working fine. Trunk card: TN747B, G3csiV9, s/w: R009i.05.1.122.4.
Thanks for your prompt responses...and patience.
Dave
No problem Dave...that's what were here for !!
I confirmed that my x-conn was off by a pair on each one. That solved my "in service/idle" problem. Now, I dial '8', accessing TrGp 3, can't dial the exts (7xx)at the distant end; for the most part. Explanation: With "ARS ANALYSIS 700" set up, using Rt Table 8 (TrGp 3, 3 digits, locl), I can dial x700 fine. If I dial any other ext (i.e. 701) the call drops after approx 10 secs. I know I can't simply add all those exts into that ars table, because then I wouldn't properly route any office codes that conflict with the ext numbers. I've done ars routing on a number of other products (Mitel, Toshiba, Panasonic), but this Definity has me baffled. Thanks again.
