How can I walk up to a Cisco phone and access a particular trunk. If it was a Samsung I could dial 701-708 and get trunks 1-8. How do I do that on a Cisco. Not having line appearance on this system makes it a nightmare to shoot trouble on the telco behind it.

Thanks

Unfortunately, you can't unless it was specifically programed to do so. Cisco Call Manager doesn't have any default settings like that, the have to be created.

Is it a big deal to create codes where you can test the lines on a system? would you just make 4 trunk groups with one line in each?

The company has 100 systems out there all 10 phones and 4 lines. The stores have no clue they have lines out til they start getting complaints. They could be missing calls ($$$) for weeks and until someone complains that they can't be reached or someone can't make an outgoing call, they are oblivious to the problem.

I would like each store to be able to test their lines once a week to make sure they have all the lines they are paying for.

I think you'd be better served to open a new topic on your new problem.

Joe, post the new topic, and then I'll explain a couple options.
