I was sold a 4024 to work on my summit. I am plugging it directly into my system and it is not coming on. I looked it up in the manual and it does not show this model compatible with the Summit. But the Vertical Summit data sheet shows it is compatible. I have never had an out of the box issue before. But I always have used the LDP 9030D not the 4024. Anyone know if the 4024 is compatible? Thanks ahead of time
Sincerely, Billy
You do know that the 4024 phone uses the second pair, not the first pair for connectivity to the KSU, right? While the SBX allows you to literally plug the phone into the KSU, the Summit went back to the traditional first pair for station outputs.
I have never worked on a SBX phone system. I strictly have only installed about 10 Summits systems. I never used this 4024 phone before and will never use it again. I did not know that about the wiring. So you are saying the phone itself works off pins 3 and 6. Not 4 and 5. I will jury rig a jack and see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the input. Sorry for what I guess is a dumb questions.
If I seem dumb founded it because I am!
ON a 4 ping rj-11 phone side of 4024
1 = white orange = DK tip
2 = white blue =
3 = blue white =
4 = orange white = DK ring
But on Summit KSU
1 =
2 = DK tip
3 = DK ring
4 =
I will try on my bench in morning. Thank you ED
That is correct. I'm not crazy about that design either, but I've just gotten used to it.
That worked great. Thank you again for taking the time to answer my question. Have a Great day!!

My advice is to avoid any non-standard wiring of jacks...adapt a line cord instead. Cut one end off and move the red and green to pins three and four.
