Hello

We've got a bit of a weird issue with a customer's mivoice 250 whereby the system will crash and lockup and a reboot is required to bring the system back to life. We've almost determined that the system seems to crash whenever a user is using the voicemail. The customer has had a complete replacement system (cab, processor, BRM Modules, flash card has been replaced 3 times). All onsite equipment has been checked including switches, UPS etc. The ISDN2's have been checked for any errors. We've tested the flash card in another system and cannot replicate the fault. We have a ticket logged with mitel and they seem to be just as confused. The system is on v6.2.3.53. We've wiped the programming and started fresh with only basic programming and the fault still remains the same.

A really odd one and we're scratching our heads. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers
What does that mean, Locked up?
The phones become completely unresponsive to button presses or what?

I would suggest a software upgrade.

Possible SSH attack on port 22? Are you doing voice mail to email using MP3 instead of .wav files?
Hi Chaps

Thanks for the suggestions. Having done some more testing it looks as though the fault may be originating from the ISDN as the fault only seems to happen when the ISDN is plugged in. We're looking at migrating the customer to SIP to try and resolve the issue. In answer to your suggestions:

-The phone's lock up whereby they lose connection to the system and the only way for them to come back up is by rebooting the system.

-The customer is on the latest version of software.

-We've had a look at a possible ssh attack. Using both file types doesn't make a difference and the fault only seems to happen when the user dials into the voicemail.

We'll see what this SIP porting outcome is.

Cheers

Nick
