Hi

I just hade a chance with modkey 16, It was in a store of one of my frinds, I wander does modkey 16 support any normal singel line phones (Analog)?? if so which 2 pin of the 1&4 or the regular 2&3 ???
No analog ports available for this system you need to tie to CO lines or use line share device
Meny Thanks for your nice help, But How can I use line share device, Please Explain...
The line share device goes between the teleco lines and the MOD key. They are mostly for sharing a line with a FAX, modem, answer or credit machines. A cordless could be hooked direct to line but you wouldn't have any system features or privacy. There were many key phones made that fit that system check with a refurb co. or eBay.
For a VERY short time TIE had a Canadian subsidiary that developed an analog adaptor for the Mod Key 16. It converted one of the station ports to an SLT with ring voltage. I think this was about 1986.

Unfortunately it was never widely distributed.
Good luck finding the adaptor....20 years is a long time out to find something like that; but who knows! smile I know a guy that used a line sharing device to put several cordless phones with his Tie MOD system, it seemed to work well. The key, Like Merritt said, is to realise that the phone is NOT on the system and has no system features.

I recall that adapter,I'm thinking Walker made it. I'm probably wrong. They discontinued it just as I sold 4, of course. Called the factory trying to get them to run a few more. Found out sales were low because the $ was too high. They actually were buying 612 phones and taking the processor and some periphial circuitry out of the phone to interface with some proprietary circuitry they developed. They had to do it that way to avoid patent/copyright legalities.
Just a little more 'history of telephony' from the old gas generator.
