Am i cracking or what??? Doesnt the ATA2 support a hookflash? I have 7.1 software, CICS, and have tried two different ATA2's and I can not for the life of me get a secondary dial tone (stutter tone) after a hookflash. Testing right out of ATA port with a buttset. Yes, CO link is on and the DN has allow link set to Y under set restrns. I've even tried it on a seperate system in my office and no dice. If I hook up a 7316e to the same port it works fine. What in god's name am i doing wrong. I'm sure its something simple.

If you're trying to get an outside line, have you set up a line pool & line pool code?

If you're trying to use a "Feature", then "Flash", then * then the feature code (631 for example)

What are you trying to do exactly?

Sorry. Let's say I'm trying to perform a conference... I go off hook, get intercom dial tone, dial 9, get CO dial tone, dial number, hookflash, no stutter tone, no new dial tone and eventually reverts back to orignal call.

In that case, it can't be done. To do a conference call on a system phone, you place the 1st call on hold, establish the 2nd call, THEN enter the feature code and press both line buttons.

With an ATA, there is NO feature code for HOLD; therefore it can't be done in that manner.

If you had Centrex lines from the telco, you could. The "conference" feature with Centrex lines is built into the LINE.

Link (Hook Flash) 2 is an ATA hold.

Link 3 is ATA Conference

Hook flash on an ATA is an INTERNAL control. It prepares the system for you to dial a feature code. You can try Hook Flash followed by *71 (which is the link feature code), but I don't think it will work.

Wait, lets try this again. As I stated earlier, I can hook up any digital phone and it works fine. The customer does have centrex lines available, and it works fine. The ATA2 is the only device that does not work and this is the second one put in place.

Marv,

If hookflash is hold, why does it then revert back to the original call after about 5 seconds?
