I have a call pilot 100, that remote access has stopped working. Trying the ** to retrieve voicemails from outside of the office. Any suggestions?

Are you trying from a cellphone? Try calling in from a land-line. Some cellphones don't put out enough of a tone for the CallPilot to recognize it (which sometimes has to do with the cellphone settings, re: short/long tones).

Other than that, re-boot the CallPilot.

Yes, I have been trying with a cell phone. I will try that tonight.

My cellphone works with some CallPilots and not with others.

What are the symptoms when you try?
What version software?
Posted By: doubled Re: Call Pilot 100 - 01/09/12 10:33 AM
This has 3.0 software. Here is a little background. Customer was in old location for years it worked fine. Since I have moved them, it has no longer worked. I am curious if the provider is having issues with their DTMF tones. I created a voicemail box, it does work internally.
I have tried rebooting the CP, but this didn't change.
All I get is dead air when I enter the **.

When you say internal you mean call from a land line into the main line?....that is the true test method.

Does not sound like a carrier issue if you get dead air after **, you should at least here bionic betty asking for you to enter mailbox and password.

Unless the carrier does not seeing the *
To test call the main line, get to a mailbox greeting and press *, see if it takes you back to main menu.
Return to AA must be set to Yes.

Maybe try setting Return AA to No, reboot then back to yes.

If I call extension to extension. When I call from a land line, I get nothing. I have tried calling in from numerous phone lines and types. The only thing that has changed on this system is a new circuit when I moved them.

what type of phone service? cable, sip/voip?
Posted By: doubled Re: Call Pilot 100 - 01/11/12 07:34 PM
PRI circuit from XO.

Your answer is vague
* not working from anywhere?

Unless the carrier does not seeing the *
To test call the main line, get to a mailbox greeting and press *, see if it takes you back to main menu.
Return to AA must be set to Yes.

As I stated in a previous post, calling from anywhere meant from other copper phone lines, other T1 circuits and other PBX types. I have the * internally and it works fine, but again not calling in from the outside world.

I meant from internal dialing back in or from home etc.
Seek help from the carrier then or upgrade to 3.1

Curlycord, I tried what you said and yes I do get back to the main menu. I have stated that the voicemail works just fine internally.
Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

Try hitting # while listening to a mailbox greeting. It should take you to the beep right away.

If not this a carrier issue. Not passing *#

That's what I am getting at Marv.

Also double check under system properties that the interface is NVM and not CP mode.

I think 88 is to check messages in CP mode

Excellent point as well Curly.

CP interface = 88 ??

I use a CP-100 but I still do the ** to get my messages and my MB is the CP interface.
And I do not find 88 in the flow chart.

Where did I miss the 88 command ?
Are you talking about Option-xx Call Pilot ???
Posted By: Curlycord Re: Call Pilot 100 - 02/02/12 07:37 AM
CP's destined for some other countries use 88.

I was talking about the system interface, not a mailbox interface.....however that may not matter.

Either way on both modes I am pretty sure you can also enter the DN of the Callpilot to check messages remotely.

I checked the #, that feature does work from off site. When I press the ** it still just go to nothing.
Posted By: doubled Re: Call Pilot 100 - 02/06/12 04:23 PM
I also checked doing the 88, it also does nothing, just goes to dead air.

Bring another vmail to site and test.
Posted By: doubled Re: Call Pilot 100 - 02/07/12 02:26 PM
I brought that up to the customer. They don't want to buy another voicemail if that is what the problem is.

Don't you have a test unit/spare that you can take to customer location just for testing..........to show one way or the other what is happening?
Posted By: Curlycord Re: Call Pilot 100 - 02/08/12 06:45 AM
Yes I didn't mean for you to charge them the unit.

You have an odd issue therefore must be diligent.

This will at least prove if voice mail issue or not.

So have you verified that the t-1 or pri is providing good dtmf by assigning a target line to an ext.?

Do you have a DiD block from telco? And if so how many digits?
Posted By: sausagefingers Re: Call Pilot 100 - 02/13/12 11:01 AM
If you do have did service from telco you need to verify how many digits you are receiving by assigning a target line to a set.
