I'm trying to figure out a friends new phone system for him and have it all working the way he wants other than when someone calls him they get a busy signal. Instead of just having a busy signal he wants it to simply "roll" to the next open CO Line. I can't seem to find this anywhere and its driving us both nuts looking for it both in the software and the manuals.

He has one phone number from the telephone company but it looks like he can have up to 8 seperate people calling him on that one number with this phone system.

Thanks,
Jeff

Sorry Jeff, it does not work like that. Hunting or rollover is a feature that is provided by your phone company. The system can support up to 8 co lines but you would need to bring 8 lines in from the telephone company, they system does not provide them. Your friend will need to contact his phone company to added additional lines with hunting/rollover. It is one call per telephone number at any given time.

Ok thanks for letting me know that. So even if we get him say 3 phone numbers coming he will still only be able to have 3 people on the phone at a time. Not have it so say, 3 people on hold and another 3 on the phone actively? The main thing we are looking to prevent is having customers call and get a busy signal because that isn't very professional.

Neither is having them sit "On Hold", but if he only has three phones/people to answer that the total that be in use at any given time without someone being on hold.

If this is your friends "New Phone System" why are you playing with it and not the original installing company? You could conceivably cost him a lot of headaches +/or money with your inexperience and/or loss of system warranty.

Definitly, one person per telephone number, no matter if they are on hold, during a conversation, or even during call waiting (you don't want that on a business line....it knocks people off of hold). Make sure they are in a "roll over" so that it takes the fourth call before they get the busy signal.

Make sure your friend gets a music on hold unit (not provided with the system) to play either music or an advertisement while they wait....again, more professional than dead silence.

Good luck.
