We have picked up some basic wiring & testing work from a local carrier. One of their requirements is that we purchase either a TB 2209 or TB 950 OR THEIR EQUIVALENT, with the ability to "a. make voice AND data test calls back through an Adtran or standard d-mark, b. have emulation settings for 5E, N1, N2, or N3 switch"

We have never been on the testing side of a T1/PRI, and have a couple of questions.
1. The 2209 is available in a refurb, but it's very hard to tell which options are required to accomplish the tasks listed above, and the refurb dealers can't tell us.
2. The 2209 seems to be a much more practical piece of equipment than the 950, and seems to be MUCH less expensive; comments?
3. Is there yet a different piece of equipment that we should be considering? There has been great mention on here of the TPI 570; does this fit the same bill, but better?

Cost is a concern, as they will be passing us 15-20 calls a month, most of which should not require the equipment. It will probably be high-volume low profit work, so we really don't want to invest $10k in a piece of equipment until it is certain that this will be worthwhile.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!

Chuck
