We used to be able to get 1-pair splices. I think they were made or sold by AT&T/Lucent and also Thomas&Betts. They allowed you to stick one whole pair in one end and crimp it down, then stick another whole pair in the other end and crimp it down. Before crimped, the two sides kind of butterflied up. I'm sure some of you have seen them. I've even seen where some telco techs have used them. I believe they came in varieties of "filled" (gel) and "dry".
Anyway, the last ones I used were the T&B ones; got them from Graybar. I was told by Graybar the last time I tried to order them that they had nothing like that in their system. Anyone still using these/have these/know where to get these? They sure save time when splicing entire pairs, and they are nice to use. They also take up less space if you have to splice and tape up multiple pairs. If you still order them, could you help me out by giving me a part number, manufacturer, and where you buy them?
Thanks!
