From Verizon:
"(1) Some alarm company providers are sending out false information that states FiOS is not compatible with their alarm dialers. Alarm dialers employ analog modems just as fax machines, point of sale terminals, TiVO, etc use. Extensive proactive testing has confirmed the vast majority of these dialers are compatible. There are limited cases that require Tier II support/intervention due to old analog modem protocol. In order to determine if any setting changes are necessary, technicians should test any customer equipment while still connected to a copper line prior to converting to FiOS provisioned dial tone. This establishes that the equipment was working properly on copper. After the conversion to FiOS, another test must be performed on the same equipment to ensure that is compatible with FiOS.
(2) We are seeing reports of alarm dialers not working properly once the customer converts to FiOS Digital Voice (FDV). * FDV requires 10 digit dialing. * It is the technician's responsibility to inform the customer of the new 10 digit dialing requirement when reviewing the services. * It is the customer's responsibility to contact the alarm company to make any necessary changes to the dialing plan. * Most alarm companies can reprogram their dialers remotely.
If necessary, Tier II IH/N Support can be reached at: 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX, option 5, option 8.
