Someday, I fear that folk on this forum will get tired of my questions, but I will risk it again...

What I am wondering, is with 1A1 KTUs, what did they mount on. I found a photo of one (from e-bay), that looks like this:

It looks as if there is some sort of mounting device that this was designed to screw into. I am interested what that device was called, and if it was possible to integrate 1A1 and 1A2 systems.

BTW, this is an ITT line unit.
