I've got a DK424 with five expansion cabinets. After a recent lightning incident at this facility, the base cabinet stopped communicating with the last two expansion cabinets.
I've tested the expansion cabs and they're OK. That leads me to think that the problem is either with the base cabinet or the processor. I don't have a replacement available for either, so I need to decide which is the more likely to fail. My techie-sense tells me the cabinet's backplane is probably passive, but it's been a while since I've seen one that wasn't against a wall.
Any thoughts on the most likely culprit?
Thanks!
D.
