Hi, we have a Mitel SX-50 which went through some power problems.
Since that time, it has not functioned correctly, the console phone only displays the time and "66-N G"
Any ideas as to what may be wrong??
Thanks
John

Data base probably scrambled- check power supply voltages. Load default data, then re-program system. Was it lightening? Is there surge supressor etc?

I have had this happen in the field a few times. On occassion powering down the system for approximately 1 minute and repowering the system will cause it to come back up and work correctly. The reason being the system did not see a full power outage and did not get to totally discharge.
If this does not work then I agree with westerntelephone on the next thing to try.

Keep in mind that this system is 20 years old. When a system's old enough to vote, it's time to think what you're going to do next. Obsolete parts keep getting more expensive.

Hi again guys. Thanks for your help so far. I powered off and on the KSU, but it still only displays the time since power on, and now 67-N G -vs- 66-N G. The dip switch settings were played with before I was onsite and I don't know the original settings, and there are no manuals whatsoever for this rig. As well the owner tells me that at one point the console was displaying NVRAM error. I'm guessing the eeprom is probably corrupted, but I have no idea where to get firmware or how to go about re-flashing the unit. I noticed that there's a rs-232 25 pin port. Can I telnet (or something equivalent) into this system? Thanks John P.S. If anybody with any info at all on the sx-50 would email it to [email protected] I would appreciated it greatly.

Try all dip-switches off ("left"). Place the console at the unit so that you can watch it. It plugs directly into the Motherboard. Right edge.
Is there a moment during boot-up when the console says ??????? and the single LED on the MB says ?
If so, there may be hope.
Once again... What are you going to do next, for phones? Reviving a dead SX-50 is an iffy proposition.
