Self-diagnostics function constantly logs "EQP BUSY" alarms with "NO TRUNK SEIZE ACK" with the console display showing the following:

A11 0060 NO TRK SEIZE ACK 08/04
I use the fuinction key code to clear the alarm, then the next system check logs it again. We have 7 incomming lines, but only 3 "hold" buttons on the console. I called a recorded message number 3 times placing all 3 on hold, then used a cell phone to call the main business line, and it alarmed out with the busy out. Can anyone tell me whats going on with this thing? UPDATE!..TRUNK 60, IN SLOT 08, STEP 01. WHERE DO I LOOK FOR THIS AND WHAT DO I DO? THANX!!!

Sounds like you have a trunking problem. Check for dial tone on slot 8 ciruit 4. Check for reversal if it's ground start. Be sure to isolate it from telco when you check.

Might check your lines at demark, make sure it's really your problem.

the sx-50 has 10 slots. your trunk card is in slot 8 (alarm reads 08-04). the trunk you're having trouble with is the 4th trunk on that card. take the cover off the switch, and follow the cable from card 8 to the 66 block. follow the jumper from trunk 4 to telco interface and isolate it from the pbx and test it for dt, reversal, whatever.

From the console dial *19 enter trunk # 60
to see if you get dail tone if no dail tone call
phone company to check this line this would be the 4th line on the card in the #8 slot counting from left to right. if this is the first lsgs trunk card in the system then i would think that
this would be your 4th line from the phone co.dont expect to get dial tone at the demarc because from the alarm that you are geting is
for ground start trunks. you might want to repeat the *19 & enter trunk #57 thru 64 for the card in slot 8 *19 & 65 thru 72 for slot 9 also look at the card in slot 8 to see if it is 4 circuit ls/gs if it is only trunks 57,58,59,60
will be used in slot 9 if it is a 4 line card use
65,66,67,68

good luck

Your best direction ,would be the yellow pages. If you try pulling out the trunk card with the system powered up,you will cause more damage than you will save money, if it were only a station/jack problem you might be allright, but as you stated the manual is 797 pages, and at that they assume you have experience. The SX50 is not the one to start on green.Bosses tend to blow up if you blow up their system,That is too much for him to expect of you.

Thanks for this message! I also experienced the same problem with my phone system. After working on it for some time it did turn out to be a bad phone line that had too much static on the line for the pbx to work. My local phone carrier came out and fixed the line. Thanks for the help!
