I think that I agree about the 217, but wasn't Dean's 318 the only way to integrate voice mail? We never messed with these systems much after 217 so I can't say for sure. I don't remember any voice mail support on Mitel's 217 but 218 supposedly had it. It's also been a long time since I worked on these, but we had an SX100 in our office and encountered the same problem with restriction.

Geez.....I sound like some old guy sitting on the front porch of the general store in a rocking chair.

I did everything you have discussed and finally got frustrated and pulled the processor card while the system was live. This fixed it, like we shocked some sense into the processor! I DO NOT SUGGEST THAT YOU TAKE THIS CHANCE!

I talked to one of my techs and he said that he saw the same thing a while ago and he just changed everything in the restrictions to COR2 and he got it to work. The all basic conditions to deny should have been OK the way you did things, so sometimes you just have to clean the slate. I am so rusty on that system that I can't say that any of my advice will be of any use to you.

By the way, thanks for the pat on the back, OBTW. I am actually a lot dumber than I am smart, especially after 5:00 PM.

Deans software allowed ons voicemail integration. I also remember something about activation code needing to be installed *29 plus 1 or 2. Intialization might have disbled functionality.

Ok folks. I have a 318 I bought on ebay, with the intent of putting it in an SX100 for my house. Yeah, yeah, I know, overkill. But, so far, I've only spent money on the 318. And analog Mitels are FAST when you're on dial up. Because they ARE analog, Virginia. And I have no hi-speed option from telco or cable. But I want to use the supersets and ARS and T/C and, IF I can scrounge up a compatible VM, that too. Point being, I've never touched a 318 and I don't think this one is completely 'turned on'. So, can somebody PM me Appropriate info and how it's different from 217. I can't hardly believe I went to 216/217 school, at a Mitel office, in Denver,CO in about 1985! John C.

John,

Only dealt with 218 Dean, also with the 319 Teletronics. I have manuals for both if you need a copy. Thought you would get the light going at home.

What I didn't mention was that Dean got sued by Mitel regarding these processors, and were forced out of business as a result.

They are back now but I don't know if it's the same people running the show.

If your processor needs an activation code, I don't think they'll provide it.

On more thing,

I don't think Mitel created an NANP compliant software.

If required, I would try and get a hold of a Teltronics Super 319.
