Does anyone know how to hook a cordless telepgone to the mitel system? i want it to where it will ring on my regular home telephone.

Anyone can plug it into an analog jack ,which are like your guest extensions ,But it will take a pro to program your home number on the system,and prepare the jack.

Is there anyways to just have it set to call forward it to a cordless phone on my motel line

Yes,but how would you know it was your home phone line,they can ad your home line to the system,and ad an extension ,or group of extensions to ring.

OK, enough with the games. Do you live at the motel. If yes, then you can 'probably' hook your personal line into the system and direct it to an unused extension . Put a jack on that extension, plug in the cordless phone base, and away you go. It can even be arranged so that when you make an outgoing call from the cordless, it uses your personal line. I say probably because you must have 3 things before you start this. 1, You must have a spare c.o. port in the SX50. 2, You must have an extension to connect the cordless phone to. 3, You must have someone that knows how to do the wiring, cross-connects, and programming, i.e. a Mitel SX50 qualified technician. For our edification and education, do you suppose you could give the Mitel folks on the web site some idea of where in the "united states" you live.
And I hate to be an A--hole, but, a lot of folks here and around this great country have served proudly and many have given all, so please recognize their sacrifices and capitalize "United States".

All that said, if you do not live at the motel, you cannot have your personal home line hooked into the motel system. You could probably 'forward' your personal line to the motel, but there would be no way to know it was a personal call for you until the call was answered. That COULD cause problems that you should be able to imagine, so I'm no going there! Next question? John C. (Not Garand)

You might be biting off a little more than you can chew, H_M. A lot of things can get messed up - especially with a 50. Probably worth the few dollars it would take to get a tech out to do it. Just my opinion.

Let's put this another way. If you woke up tomorrow and your phone system was completely dead, who would you call?

I doubt that you installed it, and I doubt that you know how to fix it, so why would you want to put your fingers in it and mess it up?

Maybe they should call this PHONE TECH SYSTEM SUPPORT. If I came to your site and, reading through my handy-dandy pocket SX-50 guide, I couldn't figure out how to add a line and program it to an extension, then I'd come here and ask the same question and someone would give me some pointers on where to look for the answer.
I wouldn't have enough nerve to ask anyone where the trunk and station ports are and how to run the cross cuts.

In your case, we can't tell you where to look because you don't seem to have a manual and don't even know what a C.O. is, let alone the rest of it.

Stick to renting rooms and running a motel and call in the technician who is familiar with your equipment. Pay him the equivalent of 2 or 3 nights room rent and move on.
