Hi,

Our phone system is down and we have no dial tones. The Superconsole 1000 displays "Major Alarm" but its buttons are not working. The SX 200 is flashing red lights in the Critical, Major, and Minor Alarm LEDs. The Bay Control and 1 trunk card have a constant red light in their Alarm LEDs.

We had the local telephone company come and check the phone lines--all of the phone lines have dial tones before they go into the ground system.

Please let me know how this can be fixed.

Thank you.

You are at the point where you need to call a Mitel tech. It sounds like you have a bad Main Control card or Bay control card. It sounds like you are going to need parts - but at the very least help from someone on site with a good working knowledge of the system to do the troubleshooting.

Hi,

After powering down, the Superconsole displays the following messages:

Waiting for Synchronization
U-Law Companding

Please let me know how to provide a description of the cabinet.

Thanks.

Your system is down. As Dane mentioned, you're going to need a qualified person!!The only 200 system that has those 3 lights flashing simultaneously is the 200 icp. If that's the case, start tracking down the MOSS system licensing information. More than likely, your hard drive has failed.

I agree wholeheartedly with fifty5footer and Dane. You have a system in complete failure and that's an issue you can't resolve with help from this board or any other remote source of advice. You need a qualified tech on site and able to literally put hands on the problem. Your very next call should be to whoever installed the system for you, who should have the MOSS information and program backups and the tools and experience to diagnose and solve the problem.

If this is a sx200 digital I believe Mitel will not take the call, they may for $1000.00. I like to know what the MCC displays in the bootup process if you reset the box. Does it get past 4.0 on the mcc display. When it boots you will see a 2 then a 8 and maybe a 9, then 4.0. As well when it does fail after a reboot what does the MCC display, the tech handbook in the back will explain what the different error codes are.
If you have blank disks that may also be option to try. I myself would not pay a $1000.00 for them to to tell you that your disks are hosed, or the MCC is done.

A local tech knowledgeable in Mitel should be able to diagnose you in an hour - depending on where you are will determine the cost but will be a lot less than $1,000.00

Dane If this is a sx200 digital why would you want to spend a $1000.00 or even $999.00 I suggest that you call Mitel your self (test run Joes Motel) tell them you have a Mitel SX200 Digital lets say f62 remember to have your credit card or maybe first tell your boss is it ok to spend near $1000.00 on a sx200 digital system. They may and may not hang up on you before asking for the money. Im sure Mitel will love your money and there will be a smile on the other end. I'm more then glad to help anyone trouble shoot a sx200 didital system for free.
There is always the refurb market where anyone will be glad to ship you a sx200 digital system for a price or send you blank diskette of f62 or something less.

cheers

I believe it will cost you 5 tech credits (minimum) maybe more for a sx200 digital tech support call, that is again if they allow the call to go through past the friendy lady answering the call. You can always tell them this is a sx200icp then when the guy answers the call tell him the truth (you might get dial tone returned)
