I need to unplug SX50 and move electric plug closer to SX50. I was told to turn off red switch located on left side of a machine. I was also told to replace a battery CR2032 before turning it off. As I had never done this before every help is appriciated!!
Thanks..

Might not be a bad idea to replace the battery. It is round and located on the software module that piggy backs on the right side of the card cage. It should be held in place by a thin metal arm that completes the circuit. Replace the battery while the system is plugged in. It might also be a good idea (if you have a printer / Call accounting system) to get a program dump before doing any of that.

There is the possibility that the software is older and the battery is a '3-legged' device. Tadiran TL5135. Kinda hard to locate, but in either case, you REALLY should replace the battery before turning off the system, as Dane said. John C.

Make sure you don't bend the little metal arm that holds the battery in place. This is one of the connections to the battery. If this arm gets bent and won't make good connection you may loose programming when you turn the power off. Been there and done that! Would be a good idea to do a data printout first.
