Hi, I've got this unit set up and running IP to a few 5220's just fine.

I was donated a SX200RM KSU bay and assumed that the amphenol connector on the back of the 200 would plug into that. I am starting to think I might be wrong.

The bay has 8 12 CCT digital cards, a bay control card and a FIM card and power supply.

Please go easy on me, I'm fairly new to all this, but how do you connect the controller to the bay?

Thanks!

Jim

I assume that you are talking about a 200ICP MX Controller. The Amphenol connector on the back will provide connectivity to 6 trunks, 2 digital ports and 2 analog ports.

You will need a fim module in the controller to connect the cabinet that you have. You could also connect via one of the cim ports on the front of the ICP with the correct interface in the peripheral cabinet (likely a PIMCC with a cim module) or just a cim module on the bcc3 card if applicable.

You may also run into licensing issues with regard to adding this cabinet. Form 4 will show what you can do.

Pretty hard to read what you have, likely hyperterminal with wrong settings.

My guess is that you have 1 TDM Bay license and 50 devices. Typical TDM Bay is 96 ports, so maybe you could operate 40 ports on the bay if you program 6 trunks, 2 digital and 2 analog on the controller.

Hi ok the max TDM bays is 6, I dno't need that many devices hooked up as I am using this hardware to learn.

I cannot display max devices anymore as the controller is stuck in a state of:
Too many devices programmed, must delete some.

I have discovered that there is some type of break out box that is connected to the amphenol connector.

The Bay has the FIM module, but the controller doesn't (only has CIM). But I do have a 3300 with the FIM port on it. I might be able to port that over?

TIA!

Just incase, my objective here is to get the controller to "talk" to a POTS class of lines. That is why i got the bay, so i could put in a LS card.

I have an alternate idea of connecting to my works SX200 via a IP Node, but am not sure how that works.

Thanks!

Why not use the 6 LS/CLASS that come inside the MX Controller?
If you need more there's an options board tha'll give you six more LS, and 2 more ONS ports.

Couldn't have said it better. 55 is right on target.

I suggest a glance in the 200ICP-MX Tech Handbook for basic setup and pinout info.

Isn't it amazing what you can find out when one reads the manual.

Yes, they list all the wiring specs for that connector.

It appears that the 2 DNIC's are reservice for a superconsole and a sub attendant.

Thank muchly for pointing me in the right direction.
