I thought we had this prob licked...we changed the LS/GS settings on trunk 73 in the 500 comand programing...now i have release problems. the system locks up and incoming calls seem to be 'auto answered' and then force a phantom ring once the caller hangs up. I can force a release using the *41 + trunk number...or is it *51.

any ideas of what i need to look at next?

Thanks, dave

possibly I am missing something when you say you thought "we" had this licked, possibly from an earlier post. What did you change from and then to in command 500?
loop or ground start?

from ground start to loop...friend owns a motel system that had an old GS line...just recently changed to a voip provider that delivered loopstart...i did change the 573 bit to loop. and that seemed to work fine...then later that day...he started having more problems...i've lowered the release time in programing but that didnt seem to help...theres only 4 lines on the sytem..and i've matched all the settings for 573-576
still having release alarms.

did you move the switch on the trunk card?
is it only happening on 573?
if it is only happening on 573 swap with another positon and see if the problem moves

I thought that maybe the first port on the trunk card was bad..so i moved the lines down one port and buzy out the first. but then i started getting 'no current' alarms on the first port. not detecting a active line.

what I would have done was take the trunk on 573 and put it on 574 and vice versa, this proves like most challenges, is the trouble in or out. Also check polarity the same on all trunks

Like Panda: Polarity check. Then Battery voltage. Mitel's don't like battery under about 27 volts on hook, 5 volts off hook. John C.

i checked polarity, measured voltages, 45.9 on hook, 15.1 off...any other ideas?...i did notice that the manual i have reffers to two other fields in some of the registers in programing...its like maybe i have a older system then the manual i have. a,b,c,d,e,f,g,(h,i) is there a older manual that i should be looking at?...or the switches that panda refered to?

thanks, dave

What is the Software release? At the idle console:
Push 'CANCEL'
Push 'RELEASE'
Push and hold down the 'STATUS' button.
With your other hand, (Shoulda' told you, huh! smile ) write down what you see on the display. Then come back here and tell us what it is.
Oh yeh, when you're down writing down the display, you can let go of the 'STATUS' button. smile
