Has anybody put the console in a ring group, so that ou can have the console and another phone ring at the same time.

I don't think it can be done. A console can overflow to another phone or be answered using a tafas/pickup code.

I thought maybe you could change the console extension to something other than 0 and make it work or possibly call fwd an extension in the ring to the console, but I could get either to work.

Nope, the system is smarter than that. And you cannot put the console in a ring group. Program it to timeout to night bells, or ring group. Once it overflows, the console will ring 1-2 times then it will go to timeout destination. Then TAFAS from bells, or answer ringing phone. And you CAN TAFAS from console to pick up the call at the console after it goes to time out destination.
