Ok I do not know how to program mitel sx-50 system, but I can with some help. I changed phone service providers from bellsouth to charter cable modem. Charter used an arris tm508 modem. My in comieg and out going call work, however I get an alarm of no trunk release every time I hang up the phone. I clear it with *32. I have contacted my service tech and he told me it was programming of the arris modem, I needed to contact charter. I have called charter three different times and they tell me they changed programming. I do not know who to believe or how to fix the problem other than go back to bellsouth for $250 dollars more a month, with which I could lease or buy a new phone system. Hopefully someone has encountered a similar problem and can help me diagnose the problem, maybe reprogram system or ask the right question of my service guy or charter. I am very good with computers, I just have never worked with phone systems plus I do not have service manual to review. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Change the disconnect timer for the trunks from their default of 500ms, to 100ms, and you'll make the trunks more sensitive to disconnects.

There is an even shorter timer, but it usually causes more problems than it solves.

Thanks for your suggestions. I called Charter for the forth time at the suggestion of the tech guy. I finally got through to someone, who had encountered the problem before, all they had to do was reset the modem for the downloaded programming changes to work, which fixed the alarm problem, go figure...I have been listening to alarm for two weeks and the fix took five minutes. Thanks again for your replies
