i'm a desk clerk at a local motel and we have a mitel sx-50 console. whenever it rains the system will start calling itself anywhere from every 30 seconds to every 10 minutes. when the system is in it's normal mode it can ring up to 3 or 4 times on itself so i've got these calls actually queued up behind one another. so i keep it on night mode most of the time when it's doing this. that way i only have 1 call at a time that i have to answer. this is getting kind of annoying and ridiculous and i was wondering if anyone had heard of this problem before and if theres a way to fix it. we have had the phone company out here a few times but it's done nothing to help. someone please help

You may have some bad cable in the building? Or bad feeder cable, or bad cable from the Telco, Something is getting wet, and shorting out

I agree with XetaTech, Have a local company come out and look at the feeder.

Check all the rooms for dial tone. Could be a bad phone. A console reading say too. If the property is using a Channel Bank you may need to reboot that.

One of the trunks has a slight ground on the tip side that is only affected by the weather. Note the trunk equipment number when the console rings, advise your service provider of the phone number of this trunk and you will be good to go.
