I have a customer that has a 124i with an nvm2e vm and a single 6 line hunt group. The office is a law firm where the partnership is splitting up with a couple of the partners leaving and going out on their own. They will have to get their own set of lines along with a new system. No big deal there. The problem comes when a client calls into the system and wants to speak with a lawyer who has left. I have a few options
1. Record in the auto attendant of the 2e that these lawyers have a new number and it is xxx-xxxx.
2. Providing the software version allows, have their calls call forward off premise to the new number. (All calls are front end auto attendant. I can program a digit to send the call off premise
3. The partners will have to contact their clients directly to inform them of the change.

Do I have any other options available to me?

I would just have the lawyers that leave record a message in their mailbox with their new number

or record it in a announcement message I wouldn't use off premise call forwarding if it where me

Agreed. Let them set up their own way of dealing with this. The VM method sounds the best. Then the messages can gradually be removed as the callers are weaned away from the old numbers. Remember, they are lawyers. Anything that happens wrong will be your fault.

As they say in football......."upon further review", recording a message informing them of the change is the best option. Thanks guys.

I agree, do NOT use the call transfer. If three calls come in for them then you use all 6 lines for the transfer (unless they have a flash transfer on the lines).

Additionlly those lawyers (the ones that left) are lucky that the old firm is being so gracious. Imagine, you decide to branch out and start your own interconnect, and a customer calls your old company (whom you are now competing against) asking for you, do you think they would send them to a Mailbox that has your new contact info.
I guess I could see the old firm was civil law, and the new firm might be enviromental law so therefor no conflict of interest, but ....
