I thought i had this one licked, but have ran into one other snag maybe someone can help me with. I have a small sytem using PRI and DID's . The customer wants thier private DID's to ring on thier phones and CFB/CFNA to VM. No problem, but they also want thier 2 main lines to ring on those phones as well and CFNA to the AA after 4 rings. I thought I had found a way around it using a hunt group for the main lines, which does work but I have found that if two calls ring in at the same time, the 2nd call will not ring the hunt group, but will go to the AA after the 4 rings. The sets assigned to the hunt group do not ring for the second call. I have it set for broadcast mode, If busy=busy tone. Any suggestions welcome.

Why not have the AA answer after 3 rings but CFNA the sets after 4 rings? That way the 2 main lines will not get forwarded by the individual phones.

Thanks Dan and Toner. I'll try getting rid of the hunt group all together and changing the number of rings for the AA and CFNA on the phones. I've kinda run into a situation where this system was originally installed by someone else and we replaced it after taking a lightening strike. The customer is used to how it "used to work" and was trying to recreate the orignal way they were used to it working. Truth be known, it has probably always done this but they have just now noticed it because they are getting so many calls after Ivan (They sell building materials). Anyway I'll try that and was just wondering if that is just the nature of the beast when dealing with hunt groups. If one call is already ringing and another rings in, the 2nd call does not ring after the first is answered.

As an afterthought, I think I tried setting the AA # of rings lower that the set CFNA # of rings. That worked but my problem came in with the DN's also being set to CFB to thier VM. If I get rid of the hunt group, and assign the main numbers to ring on those sets it will follow the CFB assigment immediately of anyone who is on the phone. Thoughts?

I guess I was hinting that maybe you don't need CFB. Anyway, I think that a broadcast hunt group is just that way - it can't receive more than one call at a time. Would Ringing Service work? I don't know if phone that's ringing through services follows it's call forwarding or not.

Just a thought...

How about setting a hunt group for each line? A little tedious but it may accomplish what you're looking for.

I had thought about that too, but was'nt sure. I can assign lines to a huntgroup but it does'nt ask how many appearances you want that line to have in the hunt group like it does when you assign it to a set. I can try seperating the two lines into seperate groups and see what happens though. I'm going back onsite tomorrow and I'll give it a shot.
