Someone gave me a used Nortel Cics and Startalk flash voice mail. I know how to reset the system password. But does anyone know how to reset all the mailboxes and passwords? I want to basically just bring the system back to default. Thanks in advance!

If you have an Installation guide, look for the "reinstall" procedure. If you can't find it you can shoot me an email.

There is always the old solution. Take the Startalk apart, find the super capacitor (often green, about the diameter of a silver dollar, about a third of an inch thick, two contacts on the opposite side of the board) and put a shorting wire across it for an hour or so.
This totally drains any memory retention and I used it a couple times when the dagone stubborn thing just didn't want to work.
Using programming is faster but if they get too dang confused to do anything right, slap the memory right out of them.

Shorting out a capacitor on anything is not the best thing to do. I would listen to the BMC GUY, the reinstall is without a doubt the best way to handel the situation. unless of course you dont care that the voice mail may not work when your done rigging it. then its fine to short out the capacitor

Shorting the capacitor is never a good idea. Its basic ohms law. 5 volt cap and 0.1 ohm piece of wire equals 50 amps of current running through that wire. Enough current to weld. If you must short the cap because all other attempts to default the system fail, use a bleed resistor of at least 100 ohms.
