got a new client has an 8x24 with a flash,problem was reception could not transfer calls to ext's cause drt was set to 3 rings but fna wan set to 4,now on the mics if there is v/m on an extension doesn't that take over the drt settings

I believe this is same on an 0x32 as it is on an 8x24. The DRT needs to be set longer than the CFNA, if I am wrong I'm sure somebody will correct me.

Same on all Norstars. Your problem is transfer recall and CFNA interaction. Transfer recall must be longer than CFNA if you want to CFNA to voice mail otherwise it will recall to the person that transferred the call. If it from the AA then it doesn't matter.
DRT is different. It only comes into play on initial call ringing in and then again AFTER the the transfer timer
