We have a Nortel Norstar MICS system with a call pilot 150. I have a problem that started a month or so ago where once our system goes to night mode if anyone calls it using a direct phone number to a person the voice mail that answers belongs to the user that has the first number in our bank of numbers. For example. we have numbers xxx-xxx-2100 thru xxx-xxx-2150. If I call xxx-xxx-2115 after four rings I get the voicemail box for user xxx-xxx-2100. The other oddity is if I call xxx-xxx-2100 the general delivery mailbox answers after dour rings. I am a complete self taught novice so please make sure any rsponses a dumbed down a bit for me

I would change the ring group in your night service to 2 and then add your voicemail DN to that ring group
Two girls later and I'm back.....lol...been gone a while but see same faces still here. Lol

Iwould suggest to go to Target lines and take a look on Digits 2115. I bet it belongs to extn. 2100 or whatever it is and Target line with 2100 doesn't have any extension availible it is going into GDMB. Another thing in Ringing Group 001 you should have Pilot extn.number of VM for all lines. Night mode should be set up for Manual not Off.

Vad, if you use ring group 001 for the night service, you have to change all the target lines to a different ring group, or once you engage night service, everyone's DID will ring into there mailbox and not even ring.

Thanks for the help, I don't know where to go to change or look at the ring group for night service. Also the voicemail DN is the only number in ring group 2

So sounds like Night service 1 has main set number 2100 in it for the ring group and all calls are fwd no answering into that mailbox. When you engage night service all target lines are still in ring group 1 and are ringing at reception. In order to change the ring group you will need to contact a dealer or tech to access your installer programming and change the night service ring group. Does your system have a remote device on it? How do you know ring group 2 has the vmail dn in it? Do you have the installer password and manual?

I have what we call the config password. I push next twice for services then once for ring groups.. In group one, all the extensions for our call center are in there which 2100 is a part of. In group two is 2280 which if dialed from a phone takes you to that phones VM. I guess I just do know where in the config to change/ look at the night service ring group

Nickels,
DID would ring Day & Night on assigned as Prime extensions and it doesn't metter what ring group they belongs too. Russ, In Ringing Group 1 has to be only one extension which is VM's pilot(2280) or whatever it is. That means that all target lines numbers that don't have an extension as a prime in it would go to AA's Night Greeting on first ring. If you have in this Group all extensions it would pick up the lowest MB number, perheps 2100.
