I have an ATA that was working on an 8x24 just fine, plug a tone telephone in and it would work, use a pulse phone and it would also work just fine. Plugged it in at another site on a 6x16 and while a tone phone rings and gets a dialtone it wont work, Plug a rotary phone in and it works just fine, can call other extensions etc. Is there anything im missing in the config of the 6x16 ?

Jay,
Programming is the same. What exactly "won't work"?

Did you try it on just one port?
I don't know if the DTMF generator is in the ATA or uses KSU resources but you are lacking DTMF. If it doesn't work on multiple ports, then the DTMF generator is in the ATA and has died. (I'm guessing not insisting.)
Maybe it got run over by your truck between the 824 and the 616? Remember to have a cold Labatts AFTER the job.

Jay...
Are SURE that DTMF is turned on in system programming, and that it's not set to Pulse. At some point some dipstick when setting it up or re-setting it up might have missed that and the client has been calling out with pulse dialing ever since. (The default is PULSE)
Stupid, yes, but don't bet your life on clients being the brightest light bulbs in the pack.

actually its on my 6x16 in my house, and when its set to pulse you hear the system click, i have it set to dtmf, here is an example of its behavior. I dial 0 on the 500 set plugged into the ATA and i get the reception phone. i dial 0 on a 2500 plugged into the same ATA and the dialtone doesnt even shudder

Jay.... On some 2500's, the dial pad were tip/ring sensitive. Reverse the pair, try again. Try another SLT. I thought you had an 8x24 at home? Line pool code set up? Pool access granted to that ext? Bad power supply? Like the Bunny said, have your Labatt Blue After

well ive also tried with my butt set, when its on tone it doesnt respond, just a constant dialtone. I tried it again this morning on my 8x24 and the 8x24 at work, works just fine. Scratching my head on this one!
