Can I use 7.1 s/w in a NVram 01 cartridge?
Also what exactly are the difference between the two, behavior or programming wise?

If my feeble memory serves me correctly..NVRAM2 was for post 4.1 software. It had increased RAM and corrected some corruption issues from R1. Programming/behavior/operation is transparent from R1 to R2.
