Hello everyone,

I have visited these forums many times and your feedback has helped me many times. Thanks for that.

Ive tried solving this problem im having for about a week now with no luck.

I have a CallPilot100 that doesnt boot up.

Ive connected through a serial cable to see whats going on and it says "ALERT: ALL TCMs are out of Sync. Reset Hardware if a new KSU is connected."
Then it proceeds to say system will restart after 2 minutes. Then it just starts that whole boot process and returns to th same message.

How can i reset the thing if it doesnt load properly? Any advice is GREATLY appreciated.

help

Have you tried changing the power supply?

The CallPilot 100 won't "come up" unless both station ports are tied to a live KSU. Powering up the CallPilot as a standalone device will cause it to continuously reboot.

There are two TCM (Time Compression Multiplexing) ports. They are located on the right side of the unit between the power interface and the Ethernet port.

When the two TCM LEDs light up solid, the CallPilot 100 sees the Nortel. These LEDs look like a keystone jack; one has a little number "1" next to it, the other has the number "2".

See page 24 of the CallPilot 100/150 Installation and Maintenance Guide for additional clarity.

Also, make sure your Software Flash card is in buttom slot not in the upper one.

Welcome to the board, Tech In Training: welcome

Just wanted to clarify the s/w cartridge answer.
Even though it is technically correct to say Bottom Slot, that is tough to figure out when it is mounted on the wall.
In reality, it is the back slot.
The one closest to the wall it is mounted on.

Check all three items that the above posts mentioned. All three are good answers.

Sure enough it was the power supply.

The rest of the information i followed correctly. Had 2 KSU ports connected had the SW in the back of bottom of the 2 slots.

Thanks Everyone.

Here is another question for you. This specific CP is English/French, is there a way to change it to some other language?

I only ask because when purchasing one my vendor told me they can change it.

We've had a rash of bad P/S on the call pilot lately. About a year and a half ago it happened also. Some were bad out of box, but most were in the field for a while. Both times it happened, we got 4 - 6 calls in a 2 - 3 week period about dead call pilots. All were bad power supplies. Strange....must be Sunspots!

Anyone else notice this stange pattern?

Didn't have to notice.
It was a known problem with a batch of PS's from Nortel.
Probably came from China.
