I have noticed an oddity in my hunt groups on the last few installs. When an internal set dials the hunt group, all phones in the hunt group keep the icon when someone answers that call.

Setup is 3 sets in the group, set to broadcast. Internal set (any) calls the HG DN, and all 3 sets ring as would be expected. When one picks up that call, the other 2 sets see that "line" as in use. T7316e phones, so they see the triangle with the handset on the side. If they try to use that line, they get "line busy".

This happens when the sets are set to appear and ring, or ring only. On ring only, it does this to the intercom button. Then the other 2 phones cannot make or recieve calls until the 3rd is off the hunt group call.

Outside calls and VoIP trunk calls do not do this, only calls from internal.

This is a new installation of R3 (9 sites), patched up to date, and all sites are seeing this same issue.

Any ideas are appreciated. I'm trying to seek out help here before calling Nortel...I'm hoping I'm missing something simple.

thanks!

What is the setting in HG for busy? Queue, Busy or Overflow?

The HG is set to Queue, with a timeout of 45, overflow is going to Voicemail. There is also a target line associated to the HG with received digits same as the HG DN. (For other sites to call the HG over the IP trunk).

Are you sure these are I/C buttons and not target line. A HG call on one phone will never make an I/C of of another phone busy, even if that other phone is in the HG. It will however show busy on a TL. What are the settings of the TL? If the TL is A&R or A only how many appearances are there? What does the TL do on busy?

Yes, I'm positive they are I/C buttons. The TL has no assigned DN's on it. It is set to go to Prime on busy. On this particular one, the prime is a HG member, but changing the prime, or removing it from the HG does not change the symptoms.

Also, I agree that a HG call will not make an I/C of another phone busy...that's why I'm baffled. That's exactly what it's doing!

Hopefully someone else can replicate, or has seen this on a Release 3.
